0cfc 2 advances to upsl socal final after a second half brace from andrew hernandez

Irvine, CA - Orange County FC 2 is moving on to the 2018 Fall UPSL SoCal Final after coming from behind to defeat L.A. Wolves FC in the USPL SoCal Semifinals at Orange County Great Park on Sunday December 16.

OCFC 2 got on the scoreboard first when Connor Gordon connected on a pass from Jordan Chrzan and slotted the ball home in the 6th minute of play.

One week ago a giveaway from OCFC 2 in their own half nearly led to a goal for Sporting San Fernando in the quarterfinals, but this time the L.A. Wolves made OCFC pay and equalized ten minutes after falling behind.

Nine minutes remained in the first half and the Wolves took a 2-1 lead after a breakdown in the OCFC 2 defense.

Trailing 2-1, OCFC 2 had plenty of time to make a comeback but someone had to step up to make a big play. Midfielder Andrew Hernandez equalized in the 53rd minute after receiving a pass from Venezuelan left-back Flavio Olioso.

With the score tied 2-2, OCFC continued to step up the intensity and Andrew Hernandez scored the winning goal in style with a fabulous diving header in the 75th minute.

OCFC players and coaches were delighted at the final whistle and next on the agenda is a showdown with Cal United FC II.
