Lake Forest, CA – The long-anticipated draw took place for the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday April 4.

Orange County FC will be making its debut in the oldest soccer tournament in the United States after making it all the way to the 2017 NPSL Regional Final.

“We are very excited to play in the U.S. Open Cup,” OCFC owner Nader Dejbakhsh said. “The hard work of our players and our club paid off in 2017 and now we are ready to take things to the next level.”

OCFC will be facing a familiar opponent in Santa Ana Winds FC of the United Premier Soccer League.

OCFC 2 defeated Santa Ana Winds 3-0 to open the Fall 2017 UPSL season, but Santa Ana emerged victorious after beating OCFC 2 on penalties in the UPSL Playoffs.

Both clubs are familiar with one another and the match on Wednesday May 9 at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine is sure to be a tough one with plenty of action.
