Dominant first half does the job for ocfc 2 against la 10 fc

Lake Forest, CA – It was a matchup between the best teams of SoCal North Division I and prior to September 23, LA 10 FC had yet to concede a goal.

But after the clash at Lake Forest Sports Park, it was Orange County FC 2 that earned its third consecutive win and second in a row by a margin of four goals.

Goalkeeper Jake Hansen earned his first clean sheet of the season in a dominant team effort.

Jose Montes de Oca, Tristan Korras, and Ryan Holland provided the scoring in the first half as OCFC 2 was in good shape with a 3-0 lead.

Center back Ryan Holland scored his first goal of the season and it was only fitting that it came on a header from a free kick.

Holland made a name for himself by scoring goals coming from set pieces during the 2019 NPSL Season and the 2019 U.S. Open Cup.

OCFC 2 was firing on all cylinders against LA 10 FC and Aurelio Partida added one more in the second half as Paul Caligiuri’s men claimed a 4-0 victory.

“The guys worked really hard in the preseason and have been quite charged to start the 2019 UPSL campaign,” Paul Caligiuri said.

“These guys are very confident regardless of who they face on the pitch.”

But towards the end of the match, the win became costly as physical play from the LA 10 players resulted in injuries to captain Cody Shelton and midfielder Julien Guy.

The injuries hurt for OCFC 2, but Paul Caligiuri has made it clear that the success of his players is heavily based on the depth of his squad and it only means that someone else will have to step up and fill the void.
