Irvine, CA - Orange County FC 2 is proud to announce the hiring of Cyrus Navabpour as a new Assistant Coach. Navabpour comes to OCFC 2 after spending time as a coach at Pateadores Soccer Club where he specialized in youth development.

An Orange County native and San Clemente High School Alumni, Navabpour comes to OCFC 2 with an impressive soccer resume.

Cyrus Nababpour worked as an assistant coach at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo from 2008 to 2015 and helped guide the varsity squad to two consecutive C.I.F. Southern Section Finals.

“Capistrano Valley HS soccer was on its dying legs before I got there,” said Navabpour. “It was great to help turn the program around.”

Cyrus currently lives in San Juan Capistrano with his wife Sarah and daughter Emma.

Navabpour has also worked as an assistant coach at Irvine Valley College and currently holds a USSSF C License and National Youth License.

Competitive by nature, Navabpour brings his mentality to the sidelines of Orange County FC and only thinks big when it comes to setting goals.

“Things are always changing in U.S. soccer and that includes the possibility of one day having promotion and relegation,” said Navabpour.

“It would be perfect to see a great club like OCFC climbing up the American soccer pyramid and defeating teams like Orange County Soccer Club of the United Soccer League.”

Navabpour was also quick to mention his excitement of getting to work alongside head coach Paul Caligiuri.

“I look forward to learning so much from Paul,” said Navabpour. “He is an American soccer legend, he inspires his players, and everyone gives it their all for him.”

When asked about his goal for OCFC 2 in the current UPSL Fall Season, Navabpour had a quick response.

Win the UPSL.
