ocfc 2 suffer first defeat of 2019 fall season

Lake Forest, CA – It was a frustrating night that contained plenty of physical play as OCFC 2 suffered its first loss of the season against rivals Santa Ana Winds FC.

The first half was a disaster as OCFC 2 fell behind 2-0 after goals from Erik Carbajal and Adrian Becerra.

With the physical play picking up in the second half, OCFC 2 appeared to have the opportunity to get back into the match after a goal from Aurelio Partida and a red card for the Santa Ana Winds.

But playing with a one-man advantage did not last very long because OCFC 2 was reduced to ten men as well with time ticking away.

Santa Ana got the clinching goal from Nikolai Amurrio in the final minutes to earn a 3-1 victory and second consecutive victory over OCFC 2.

After starting the season with a six-game win streak, OCFC 2 now finds itself in a two-game winless streak.

Four matches remain on the schedule but OCFC 2 must get back on track when it faces MAFO FC away from home on November 3.
