strong second half leads to ninth win of season for ocfc 2

Lake Forest, CA – It has been a long season and after a lot of matches played, perhaps it was only fitting that OCFC 2 got off to a rough start on November 24 at Lake Forest Sports Park.

Total Injen football USA struck first to take a 1-0 lead, but OCFC 2 answered back quickly as right-back Tarzan Fernandez scored the equalizer.

Fernandez’s goal provided the confidence his teammates needed as OCFC 2 took care of business in the second half with goals from Jose Montes de Oca and Jonny Romero.

Paul Caligiuri’s men played solid defense for the rest of the night and new goalkeeper Mitch North earned his first win of the season on his debut with OCFC 2.

OCFC 2 did not start the way it wanted, but the response was perfect in a 3-1 victory that clinched one of the top two spots in the Western Conference SoCal North Division I.

Next up for OCFC 2 is a match against Inland Empire FC on December 1 at Lake Forest Sports Park.
