Ocfc 2 dominates first half in 4-2 win over sporting san fernando

Los Angeles, CA – The wins keep coming for OCFC 2 and this time it was a perfect first half that did the damage against Sporting San Fernando on October 12 at Chaminade High School.

Ironically, all four OCFC 2 goals were scored in the first half as Aurelio Partida scored his second brace to up his goal tally to five on the season.

Midfielders Jonny Romero and Jordan Chrzan got on the scoresheet as well as OCFC 2 had a 4-0 lead going into the interval and looked unstoppable.

“I believe the keys to dominating the first half was our build-up play,” winger Tristan Korras said.

“We moved the ball really well and were patient in picking our moments to go forward and kept the ball when we needed to.”

The home side Sporting San Fernando was able to cut the lead in half after the break. But the damage done by OCFC 2 in the first forty-five minutes was enough to earn the valuable three points despite a shaky second half.

“In the second half we became a little more complacent with the 4-0 scoreline,” Korras said.

“Sporting San Fernando came out determined and we were a little slow to respond. We didn’t stay as structured defensively as a unit as we were in the first half and because of that, we conceded two goals.”

It is tough to play ninety flawless minutes of soccer every week. But the OCFC 2 players know the competition will only get more difficult as the season goes on.
