Ocfc 2 score late to earn 1-1 draw against cal fc

Lake Forest, CA – It has been a very successful season for OCFC 2 and the hard work certainly has paid off with six wins to start the season.

But many felt it was only a matter of time before OCFC 2’s win streak would come to an end.

The win streak for OCFC 2 finally came to an end against Cal FC on October 20 at Lake Forest Sports Park and it was evident from the kickoff that Michael Friedman’s squad would be tough to beat.

Bryan Orta and German Alfaro were causing problems for OCFC 2 but goalkeeper Jake Hansen came up with crucial saves and even made a fabulous diving save to deny Alfaro from a close range free kick.

Early in the second half, the pressure from Cal FC finally paid off as Willie Raygoza scored in the 50th minute.

The rest of the match was an uphill battle for OCFC 2 as the battle between the two teams became more and more physical with time winding down.

There was plenty of frustration for the OCFC 2 players throughout the night but a handball late in the match after a corner kick led to a penalty kick.

OCFC 2 midfielder Jordan Chrzan easily converted his kick as he sent Cal FC keeper Kevin Marquez diving the wrong way in the 84th minute.

The 1-1 draw wasn’t the ideal result for OCFC 2. But scoring late secured an important point as OCFC 2 sits three points ahead of second-place Santa Ana Winds FC.

And it is only fitting that the two favorites of the SoCal North Division I will meet in Lake Forest on October 27.
