Ocfc 2 cruise to 5-1 victory over a.s. Los angeles

Whittier, CA - Paul Caligiuri has always been known to teach his players about teamwork and chemistry.

Based on recent results, it is clear that the Orange County FC 2 players are buying what head coach Caligiuri is selling and it definitely showed on September 15 at Whittier College when OCFC 2 defeated A.S. Los Angeles 5-1.

Not only was it a dominant team victory, but five different players got on the scoresheet.

Nicolai Dejbakhsh had a solid game once again at center back and was quick to talk about the reasons why things are clicking for OCFC 2.

“I think the most important thing was to start off strong defensively and avoid conceding early,” Nicolai Dejbakhsh said.

“We all played smart and gave our forwards chances to score.”

OCFC 2 had a two-goal lead at the half thanks to goals from Jose Montes de Oca and Tristan Korras.

David Reynoso added a third goal before A.S. Los Angeles cut the lead to 3-1.

But A.S. Los Angeles didn’t find its way back into the match as Isaac Garcia and Cody Shelton each added goals to complete the 5-1 rout.

OCFC 2 currently is the highest scoring team in SoCal North Division I and will host LA10 FC on September 22 at Lake Forest Sports Park.
