Center back nicolai dejbakhsh receives college soccer offers

Lake Forest, CA – Only weeks into his senior year at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, OCFC 2 center back Nicolai Dejbakhsh has already attracted the attention from multiple top college programs.

Nicolai Dejbakhsh has benefited greatly from balancing his Junipero Serra soccer duties and developing his skills with Orange County FC since 2017.

“Nicolai has been a very important part of our successful 5-0 start to the 2019 UPSL campaign,” OCFC head coach Paul Caligiuri said.

“The back four has not only been virtually impossible to break, but equally important they have consistently played very well out of the back, been superbly supported in the middle zone, and all four have been successful getting into the attack. As a seventeen-year-old, Nicolai has really stepped up and continues to strive to do his best to become his best.”

Dejbakhsh made his debut appearance for OCFC at 14-years-old in a friendly match with UCLA in March 2017.

Nicolai’s spell also includes more than ten appearances with Orange County FC 2 of the United Premier Soccer League.

But the defining moment came in July 2019 when he made his first start for OCFC in a NPSL match against A.S. Los Angeles.

“I was very nervous leading up to the game during the week,” Nicolai Dejbakhsh said.

“But the second I walked out of the locker room I felt I was in my comfort zone and just played my game like I have been playing my whole life.”

Nicolai Dejbakhsh has big decisions to make. But in the meantime, he is focused on his goals.

“Right now, I’m hoping that I can win a championship for OCFC 2,” Nicolai Dejbakhsh said. “After college, I hope to play in NISA or USL Championship.”

Dejbakhsh has set high goals for himself and it reflects the mood of the entire Orange County FC organization.
